Here at Performance Foundations we are coming to the end of an exciting project in the Clifton Hill area of Brighton. The project is the development of a super structure of five, three storey town houses with underground car parking.

The work began in May 2010 and we were approached by the client to tender and we were awarded the contract because we were able to supply the best price and service, and due to our flexible approach at quotation stage, as we took the time to understand our client’s needs.

The comprehensive area of works given to Performance Foundations included excavation of the site, site clearance, underpinning, retaining walls, construction of an underground swimming pool, underground car park and all drainage and services.

We sourced all of the products ourselves and worked closely with the client, listened to their requirements and offered alternative methods and solutions to save time and budget, including the provision of ICF Walls. This is an alternative to an RC retaining wall and one of the most user friendly building systems available, combining the advanced insulation properties of polystyrene in the form of man sized building blocks that easily slot together then filled with concrete to form super strong energy efficient walls. Other benefits of ICF include the fact that they have good thermal properties (so they are more energy efficient), use less building materials and therefore have a lower carbon footprint, they are lightweight and easy to handle and build time is significantly reduced.
